Summer is here and I’m super excited to share a simple summer smokey eye look PLUS an everyday makeup tutorial. If  you struggle with the darker smokey eye like I do, you’re going to love how simple this one is to create. London girls love a smokey eye and I’m going to show you how you can achieve a lighter summertime smokey eye with little skill. It’s a simple and light look you can achieve in under ten minutes. This is a look for those summer lunch dates, everyday wear or just because. Does a girl really need a reason to get glam? If you love playing with makeup as much as I do, I’m sure you will agree 😉

First, I’m going to prepare my skin by applying the Rimmel London Stay Matte Primer. I love this primer because it’s very light and helps your skin look better by hiding slight imperfections. You can wear a primer alone or under makeup. I always use a primer when using any foundation. Not only does it prep your skin but it allows the foundation to sit better and last longer.

Next, I’m adding my foundation. The Stay Matte Liquid Mousse foundation is perfect for everyday makeup. It’s feather light and gives you a matte finish. If you have oily skin, this will work great for you since it has a special oil free formula. I’m using the 203 True Beige shade.

No makeup look is complete without a little contour, highlight and blush. That’s where the Rimmel Kate Sculpting Kit comes in. The kit conveniently contains a highlighter, contour, and blush (great for travel!). It leaves you with a radiant healthy looking glow and is also lightweight.

_MG_9153When contouring, remember to go under your cheekbones and jawline. You can also contour your nose and forehead which is optional. Don’t forget to blend and highlight areas such as the cheekbone, tip of nose and above the side brow bones.  Also, blush should be applied to the apples of your cheeks. And of course, more blending.

Add a pressed powder to set your foundation like Rimmel’s Stay Matte long lasting pressed powder. It’s lightweight and gives you a flawless finish.

Bringing it out to the corners of your eyes, it will give you a bright eyed look. I also like to line lightly underneath my lower lashes as well. Add a winged liner for a more dramatic look.rimmeleyes

To finish off this look, I added Rimmel’s  Super Curler mascara (this mascara really makes those lashes pop!) and a sheer gloss for that summer goddess look.
